United States Department of Justice ADA Settlement Summaries 2011

Title III of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (“ADA”) prohibits child care providers from discriminating against a child because of a disability. Complaints about violations of the ADA are filed with the United States Department of Justice.

In the formal settlement agreements detailed below, the Department of Justice alleged that the child care providers were violating the ADA. To settle the cases against them, the child care providers agreed not to discriminate against children on the basis of disability and agreed to provide all children with disabilities reasonable accommodations and an equal opportunity to participate.
