Mission
Mission and Values Statement
The Child Care Law Center uses legal tools toward making high quality, affordable child care available to every child, family and community, while focusing particular attention to low-income families, families and children with disabilities and other special needs, and other families who face barriers in securing and maintaining quality care.
CCLC works:
- To expand child care options for every family by increasing the supply, availability and affordability of quality child care.
- To improve child care quality, so that every child can be safe, nurtured and have the opportunity to learn and develop in a culturally and developmentally appropriate environment.
- To shape the policy and legal framework for the development of a comprehensive child care system.
- CCLC is committed to ensuring that all our work contributes to positive systemic change and that a portion of our resources is always directed to broader work aimed towards having a systems impact.
- CCLC is committed to responding to emerging issues as well as maintaining our focus on defined priorities, and will retain the flexibility to use staff time and other resources to respond to emerging legal and policy issues for both the short and long term.
- CCLC is committed to achieving its mission in partnership with families, child care providers and child care advocates from diverse communities and, to that end, is committed to ensuring that our clients, partners, Board and staff reflect the diversity of the broader community.
